What I’m Searching for On Prime Day as a Mom of 2 Five Year Old’s Entering Kindergarten

Prime Day rolls around each year around this time, but for some reason the stakes feel a little higher.

Last month, we upgraded the kids bedrooms. They had been in toddler beds from 2.5-4.5 but at that point our son couldn’t stay put any longer so we threw twin mattresses on the ground and kept dreaming about what to do with small bedrooms and maximize their love of the space and the space itself.

We are loving the mattresses and they are on prime day sale here: Kid’s Mattress

In May, we hit a Memorial Day deal on the bed frames – we went for a more garden party house frame for her and a boat house for him. They finally went up last week and the kids are obsessed.

Now, we are looking to enhance the living spaces as they transition to Kindergarten next month:

  2. Corner Desks: https://amzn.to/4kuxUt0
  3. Fresh Bedroom Rugs: https://amzn.to/4lOJuAl

We want them to feel like it’s a fresh start as big kids starting regular school, but also a place that they can truly relax and unwind when they get home whether playing or doing schoolwork or just relaxing.

The other thing we are stocking up on is school supplies and a few pieces of clothes. Zoey just had her birthday so with that came a few new fun things to wear, but I wanted them to each have one new outfit to start the school year. So I grabbed two pant & tee sets that fit their individual style along with headphones, fresh underwear, and a new kids bible AND the vitamins I swear by – MARYRUTH ORGANICS (you need these!!!)

**Admittedly I went to Target for school supplies because the 50cent crayons, 80cent scissors and $1.29 large markers are tough to beat.

My kid’s don’t have uniforms for school, but that’s not stopping me from limiting their options to avoid battles. One way I am prepping this is specifically having our daughter start picking out the clothes within the boundary lines that she likes to wear the most – that way we can have 5 planned out outfits she rotates through. I’ve heard people say this works charm so I’m hopeful there are far less school morning tussles.

Last on my list is continued efforts for emotional regulation as they get older and will be stretched emotionally and mentally further than they ever have. So I ordered these pillows that got great reviews (just make sure to get both the case and the insert) : https://amzn.to/4lIz0lM

Let me know if there is anything you are hoping to snag?? Did you order anything from this list? Write me in the comments!

Happy Shopping!
